Great experience of a shore dive at Gordon’s bay. Booking is easy online. Pricing is reasonable for 2 dives. Their equipment is new and safe. Our dive master Oscar was experienced and friendly. On a lucky beautiful sunny day, the dives were perfect. Highly recommended for all categories of divers from beginners to more experienced.

Here’s the facts:
- cheapest place to learn to dive in Sydney
- not PADI certified
- dive enthusiasts, not patient seasoned teachers
- two people failed in the first morning pool session in the final five minutes. Me and a guy I have never met before. Ask other diving schools in Sydney if they have ever failed two people on the first morning?
- before he broke the news, the instructor made me and the other guy lug the heavy gear to his truck. Why?
- there was a safety incident at the city pool they use. Dont believe me? Ask the pool if there were any safety incidents involving dive schools in November 2024. There is an incident report.
- they told me i could not swim and was not fit to dive. If they really believed this, why did they wait four hours to tell me?
- they were wrong. So wrong. I got PADI certified with Frog Dive a few weeks later and have since logged over 20 dives.
- they put me and the other guy off diving. I persisted with another school. The other guy took time off from work to do the course and has not tried again.

Does this sound like a good shop to learn to dive?

Myself and two mates booked the Open Water Course with Pro Dive in Alexandria. None of us had prior experience with diving, mostly just snorkelling and a bit of free diving. The course was fantastic, informative, fun, safe and really enjoyable. All of the instructors seemed great and were very friendly. We had Ralf as an instructor, he was class. He was great fun and had us all cracking jokes, but at the same time he was a fantastic teacher, willing to slow down and repeat things if necessary. In the water he was fantastic, a real calming presence and had everyone at ease very quickly. I couldn’t recommend Pro Dive enough. If like us, you’ve always thought about doing this but maybe had slight nerves or reservations, then this is the place for you. You’ll be hooked after a couple of dives.

An amazing experience doing my open water cert! Our instructor Ralf was a brilliant. He had a very calming presence and supportive energy that made us all feel at ease. Apparently the Swiss do do it best.

I’ve done all of my diver training with Prodive and they have always been the best. This Saturday’s dive at Blue Fish point was super fun and I hope to get back out on the boat again soon. Thanks to Eric, Jackie, and the entire Prodive team!

A great experience - such a good energy, great teaching in a very casual supported setting, it’s refreshing to have the teachers (shout out to the incredible Pedro) who are clearly passionate about what they teach also make it a fun time while supporting your learning and answering my far too many questions. Did my open waters and booked my advanced and more right on the spot.

I just completed my ocean water dive course with these guys. I was incredibly impressed by the high quality of the staff and the training

Learning to dive is complicated and safety is a huge issue. The team make sure everyone is drilled and briefed before they get in the water.

The procedures are robust and the instructors don't leave anything to chance.
Everything runs to a tight timetable and the instructors work hard to make it enjoyable.

This is a very professional business and I would definitely use them for additional training and dives.

Just completed my Open Water course with Pro Dive. Everything was great. Tom (my instructor) was a legend and did his absolute best to teach us everything we need to know even though the conditions weren't great. Everything ran smoothly and all the staff involved were friendly and fun. Would definitely recommend learning to dive with these guys!
