A bucket list trip and what a way to do it. Kimberley 2024 June 1st to 26th was throughly enjoyable for us with Great Divide Tours.
After many years of 4wd touring we had never ventured to the NW corner of this wonderful country. The experience of being former 4wd club members both joining and leading trips ourselves we knew the advantages of travelling in convoys. So we decided GDT was a good option for us. Their guide Tom and his wife Dawn showed us the beauty of the area with the expertise we would expect.
Being not as nimble as some others on the trip it was a relief to have Tom there to help us through some of the trickier walks and advise us of any that may be too difficult. Joint issues as you age don’t help sometimes! The benefits of travelling with like minded people who enjoy and understand what is needed on these trips made the experience well worth doing. Yes we would definitely travel again with Great Divide Tours.

We just enjoyed a fantastic three days across ACT & NSW high country led by the incomparable Vic Widman, and Eden at the tail. Challenging 4WD tracks, amazing views and Vic's excellent knowledge of the area made for a brillant trip.

We had the most incredible time on the Birdsville Big Red Bash Tour 2024! It was an absolute delight from start to finish. Our hosts, Greg and Helen, were not only incredibly knowledgeable, but they went above and beyond to make sure our journey was smooth and enjoyable. Thier expertise covered everything from local history to mechanical skills. Their caring and attentive supervision even made our 89-year-old companion's experience fantastic. Despite having to make a few detours due to the rain, we all had a great time. The group was so much fun, and we really enjoyed getting to know everyone. It has given me the confidence to consider doing the Simpsons desert trip next. The big red bash was absolutely worth the trip alone. A huge thank you to Greg and Helen for making this an unforgettable experience!

Completed the Arnhem Land trip in July. It was amazing! Tour Leaders Phil and Allyson set our expectations early, and so we were able to get the best from this trip. The aboriginal communities were absolute highlights and everyone on the trip got on well together. Well done GDT.

Bib and Tim Dunstan (The Crows) would like to thank Great Divide Tours and especially tour leader Brad Bell for leading the wonderful double crossing of the Simpson Desert Tour we recently completed. As with the Victorian High Country Tour we did In May with Tour Leader Tom Savage, there was no effort spared in making sure we had asafe and comfortable trip which was entertaining, fun, and educational all at once. Brad could build a space shuttle with all the equipment and spares he carried, and nothing was too much trouble for him. He even went to the trouble of covertly organising a birthday cake to be produced at the Windorah hotel for Tim on the night the tour finished when we were having our farewell dinner.
We loved the relaxed atmosphere that was created on both trips, and the way any mechanical problems were solved with no suggestion at all of impatience from the leaders or other participants. We can thoroughly recommend Great Divide Tours to anyone considering a tagalong tour experience.

We’ve just completed the Simpson Desert Double Crossing with GDT…you could not find a more professional company to take you on a bucket list adventure. From the 1st contact with Jenny, then a discussion with Vic on our particular suspension questions to our tour guide, Brad Bell we have been treated to an experience of a lifetime. We cannot recommend them highly enough and are already planting our next trip with GDT. Well done to Vic and his team and a special thank you to Brad for his amazing leadership.

What a great trip! We did the Kimberley Explorer tour 1-26 June 2024, led by tour guide Tom Savage and his wife, Dawn. Whilst the itinerary was fantastic, it was Tom and Dawn who really made this trip. Tom’s extensive 4WD experience, knowledge of the Kimberley and relaxed, approachable style made all the difference. We were almost snookered on day 1, when unseasonably heavy rain closed our proposed route and there was a high probability we would miss out on the Bungle Bungles. Tom persevered and was flexible enough to find a way around the road closures which got us back on schedule and into the Bungles (one of the trip highlights) - thank you Tom. Thanks also to Dawn for her skills keeping us all organised (and of course her fireside dampers!). Safety was a key priority for Tom and having simple yet necessary protocols in place kept the convoy safe and on track. This was our first tag-a-long experience, made very enjoyable due to Tom, Dawn and the other great participants on the tour. I highly recommend Great Divide Tours and this trip - we will definitely be undertaking other tours with them.
