The TV didn't work in the room. Had to wait ages for the meal we ordered because the woman at the bar didn't put it through the till properly. She also charged us for tomato sauce. We were told that happy hour applied to the house beers but when we ordered one, we were charged $9.50. We were put in a room facing a courtyard where there was karaoke that kept us up until 12am. Definitely did not have a good experience.

Stayed here with 10 people for a bucks party. It was perfect. Very relaxed friendly staff. Beautiful garden. Amazing craft beers available and all the rooms were huge. It was exactly what I was looking for and made the weekend that little bit more special.

My very first time staying in this hotel, such a great experience even though we were a bit hard to organize small things without 24 hours room service. The room we stayed in was no 9,and my partner didn't tell me earlier that we needed to bring the room key even to the bathroom as the room didnt have the same key as a modern hotel (card with tap on off method ) we all three locked out early morning 5.30am without bringing the key when everybody gets shower in the same time, no phone no keys nothing just our pajamas even no thongs. Like we just headed off to the bathroom which is separate from the hotel room. Waited for almost 45 mins ,luckily until the restaurant staff came before 7 am and Thank God such an angel helped us and gave the back up key. So we can start the day 😆 . I don't know if I want to come back to stay in,but it was a great story to tell. We all enjoyed, the birds chirps in the morning, the separate kitchen with toaster, microwave, fridge, kettle that we can use as an emergency because everything close at 8 pm

Hidden gem.
Cute little pub, plenty of outdoor undercover eating areas. Great play equipment for the kids and yummy meals from the Cafe.
Everyone is always really friendly.
Dog friendly, we enjoy taking the dogs there for lunch when in the area.

I really don't want to rate down this great little pub, but had lunch today here. Brisket burger with slaw and chips, and vegan burger and chips. At $20 a plate you expect a pretty good feed. Unfortunately, no slaw, was just a piece of lettuce and dried out pulled brisket. Vegan burger was just tasteless. Salad, tomatoes, spices and flavours are vegan, so no excuse really to jazz up that burger. All staff, atmosphere and beer was great, so bumping it up to 3 stars.
Also the roast apparently sold out at 12.45pm... there was about 5-6 tables we could see for food and they open at 12 for food. So, sadly was a bit disappointing.

My Partner and I recently celebrated our wedding at the Abermain Hotel. We could have not ask for a more perfect day! Cass and her team went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect and the day ran smoothly. Would highly recommend.

We stayed at this beautiful historic pub in Abermain, a small Hunter Valley town, on a road trip from Melbourne. Friendly locals in the bar, great selection of craft beers and delicious food. Accommodation is clean and comfortable with bush views. Easy going and thoughtful service. Walk around town and check out the historic plaques or take a short drive to wineries. Highly recommended

My partner and I travelled to the Hunter Valley from Canberra mid-May 2023. We found the staff and locals very friendly & helpful. The rooms are comfortable, and the bed… let’s just say I wanted to take it with me!! 🤣 Enjoyed it immensely. Thanks team!! Our room was the first one to have a tv installed.
