Dan is not only knowledgeable about wine production and everything related to Hunter Valley, but he’s also a very kind human being. If you book a tour with him, you’ll visit between 4 and 5 beautiful wineries/cheese producers, all of them different but charming in their own style. You’ll be able to purchase wine, cheese and chocolate directly from the local producers, unique products you won’t find somewhere else.

Wine D Road Tours are amazing, Dan our tour guide and owner, took us to four wineries for tasting, telling us the history of wine, Hunter Valley and about each winery. After two wineries we had a lunch and after the third we had cheese and chocolate tasting, the fourth winery was also a gin tasting too. His knowledge of wine comes because he grew up on a winery, where his father was a manager and taught him about wine. The wineries, lunch with a drink, cheese and chocolate tasting and pick up and drop off from our accommodation was all included in the price. It was well worth the price we payed. Can’t speak highly enough of Dans knowledge and know how when it comes to wine.

I booked a tour for myself, my fiancé, and our parents on a Thursday, and what an AMAZING day we had with Dan. He is so easy going but so informative and clearly loves what he does. Not only did he take us to some of the most beautiful wineries in the Hunter Valley, but he chatted and got involved with all of our tastings throughout the day. It’s worth every $ and great value for money considering what’s included. We visited 4 wineries and tasted around 45 wines, plus stopped for lunch. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dan to anyone. Thanks Dan for helping us make amazing memories with our parents!!

the best day out. dan was amazing. we visited such small wineries and the lunch was the best. dan was the best tour guide he was so passionate about wine too which helped! he had really personal stories which made the tour better! we tasted delicious wines which we all purchased. brilliant day out i couldn’t reccomend more. our vegan and gluten free friends were catered amazingly for which really stood out.

We were greeted by name at our accommodation by Dan and he opened the van door for us - at the exact time we were told via text the evening prior.

We were lucky enough to have a small group on our tour, so our service from Dan felt very personal. However, after spending the day with him, we get the feeling you’d receive that personal service regardless of how large the group was. His enthusiasm did not falter throughout the day and his knowledge of the region was vast.

Dan is definitely NOT JUST a tour bus driver… he worked seamlessly with all cellar door/winery staff to deliver interesting info about the vineyards and wines themselves.

A great selection of cellar doors, cheeses, olives, chocolates and other delicious treats were sprinkled throughout the day.
We were given a choice of lunch options which were then pre-ordered to ensure valuable tour time wasn’t wasted.

Dan’s Wine D Road tour was very organised and faultless, and made our Hunter Valley experience very memorable - We couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

We had the most amazing day out in the Hunter Valley with friends who were visiting from the UK. Thanks to Dan who made it the best with his expert knowledge, timely jokes, aircon vehicle and wonderful approach to his customers. The winery’s that Dan chose for us were great and very generous. What a great day we had with Dan, Dans knowledge of the wine & wineries is fantastic. The lunch included was delicious, we sat outside at Calais Estate. The restaurant wasn’t open but the chef agreed with Dan to serve us lunch when we visited so it was a lovely personal touch. Dan is very friendly & kept us amused all day with his jokes! We’re sad we didn’t know about his accommodation previously as we definitely would stayed but great to know for next time we visit.
