MED is definitely one of my favourite new restaurants in Canberra. The ambience whisks you away to a faraway land and the presentation of food and drinks is quite outstanding. The dishes are packed with flavour, spices used cleverly to create a pop of colour and crunch. Very creative non-alcoholic drinks from the bar, much to the glee of my little people. We were served by the lovely Eliza who was friendly and helpful. I must add the sharing plates make it a varied and enjoyable experience.

Med in Barton is an absolute gem! The staff were so attentive and made sure all our dietary needs were catered to without any fuss. The food was absolutely incredible, and the drinks were just as amazing. The restaurant itself is stunning, with such a great vibe—it’s the perfect spot for a night out. I’ll definitely be recommending it to everyone I know!

The atmosphere and location were lovely- super close to the Realm and the Barton offices. Internally, the decor is calming and obviously planned to be cohesive and polished without excessive details. Food was a little mixed - we chose the banquet, which was perhaps a little less "together" than could be hoped. The bread was excellent, and dips were good without being "special" though the falafel was full of crunch and flavour. The lamb was tasty, but the chicken really didn't stand out at all, and the accompanying side of rice and lentils really was disappointing visually and taste wise. It was a bowl of grey-green, very heavy on the cinnamon and dry. A little yogurt might have added moisture as well visual appeal.

Dessert - we appreciated the revision for an allergy, but the baklava was a bit heavy on pastry, with no honey or rosewater to unite it. The stack of pastry, passionfruit, Swiss meringue and almond cream was interesting and might have benefited from a drizzle of honey or a syrup to finish it.
Cocktail options were quite inventive, and the Turkish Delight was very sweet (fine by me).
On the service side, we did feel a little pressured to order next rounds of drinks - there were frequent stops from several of the service team to check in, which went a notch too high on service; becoming a bit intrusive rather than supportive.

Overall- is on the not great, not terrible side - finding a rhythm for service for the evening can take a moment to click and we were in the early seating. A lovely venue and easy to find.

I dine at Med as it is close to work and a great place to take guests as well as friends. The service is always spot on and the staff are accommodating. The food is sharing style, and it’s always balanced in flavour and consistent - I’ve never had a bad dish at Med.

Favourites include the lamb kofta, falafel, octopus, wagyu shishka, and beetroot salad. Baklava ice cream is also really lovely - crispy and sweet pasty balances well with the creamy ice cream.

A beautifully designed space that could easily serve as a carefully considered business lunch location or a thoughtfully chosen date night venue. The menu boasts a delightful array of well-priced, well-portioned meals, many of which are gluten-free and all of which are delicious. The Med is everything I like about a restaurant, high quality ingredients, unpretentious, satisfying, delicious meals, perfect lighting, music, and service that is attentive but not overbearing. But, the cherry on top was a husband that left feeling satiated. A wonderful lunch that left us all wanting more.

A very dear friend introduced me to this amazing Mediterranean style restaurant recently. How did I not know about it with a vegetarian husband? We were warmly greeted by our host,Marivi, and another pleasant Greek gentleman whose name escapes me 🫤. All staff were attentive and service prompt. Probably the best food experience I have enjoyed this year. The beetroot hummus is just delicious and accompanied with very fresh pide bread. The roasted cauliflower with a tasty but subtle sauce was just melted in the mouth❣️Beautifully appointed decor with a bar as well as indoor and outdoor seating. No Wee Jasper Distillery gin in the bar though!😊 Can’t wait to return. 💕💕💕
