I stayed there for my first trip to Canberra. The room was a decent size with a queen bed and all the necessary amenities. They do have room service available.
The location is convenient for first-timers since it is near the Westfield shopping centre and surrounding cafes.
There was chemist nearby, which was quite helpful too.

Our stay at this hotel was deeply disappointing and concerning due to an issue with missing belongings. After a two-night stay, we realized upon checking out that we had forgotten a brand-new pair of sandals in the bathroom. We immediately contacted the hotel and even returned in person, but the receptionist claimed that the cleaner found nothing. This is simply not true, as the sandals were definitely left in the bathroom.

Adding to the frustration, on our second day, our room was not properly cleaned. While towels were replaced, no other cleaning was done. This indicates that someone entered the room but failed to complete their duties, raising serious questions about staff integrity.

The fact that belongings can go missing under such circumstances is alarming. It makes guests feel unsafe, knowing that staff with room access might not act with honesty. While it was "just sandals" this time, it leaves us wondering what could be taken next.

I strongly urge the management to address this issue, improve their protocols, and ensure the security and trustworthiness of their staff. This experience has completely eroded our trust in this hotel, and we cannot recommend staying here until significant improvements are made.

Rooms are dated, but they are big with plenty of space and the beds and pillows comfortable. The service from reception is always positive and willing to help with any issues or requests needed. Location is fantastic with plenty of restaurants, cafes, markets and Westfield walking distance from the hotel.

We booked this room for a night as a stop over on our way to Sydney. Room is pretty basic but large (in the past we stayed at Ibis Budget which is really small so I'm surprised that this one has a pretty large space despite the price). We just paid around 140 AUD for a night. We had a comfortable stay... Only negative is they don't have a remote to the tv so my son was not able to use it.

Oh, btw if you're arriving late, you should notify reception as they close early so special arrangements need to be made.

Just awful, not sure how they can call themselves a 4 star hotel. Room was filthy and in dire need of maintenance, smell from bathroom was musty and gross, loose tap in bathroom, was given incorrect information from reception TWICE impacting my plans. No elevator up so had to carry my suitcase up the stairs. Was directed to the incorrect wing after checking in so had to search around the grounds for my room.

Bed too soft, construction site right outside the window starting at 6am, and paper thin walls that I could hear the next rooms conversation and alarms clearly.

Could not pay me to stay here again.

Horrible! I was part of a group staying here recently. 2 rooms had to be moved due to bed bugs and the others were generally not happy with their rooms. Mine was tired, dirty and uncomfortable. There was no smart TV, carpet square cut out to cover damage on the floor, the room smelt, the shower was terrible and the whole unit was dated.

It's fine - it's a dated hotel with large rooms and friendly reception, but it could do with a revamp.
Pros are the budget-friendly price for room size.
Room kitchen's microwave didn't work and the pan was all scratched up, there is no lift for the second floor and it's in Belconnen which is not the closest to the city centre although there is a food market nearby.

The large construction zone below our window (see photos)with a massive excavator jack hammer that starts at 7am every day and finishes at 6pm is unavoidable progress but the fact that going by the 60 foot pit and much more to go, the hotel is obviously aware of the problems this causes patrons particularly our room in that wing of the building. However this was not mentioned at all and if it was I would have made alternative arrangements for accommodation. I'm not a whinger but even if industrial ear protection was supplied you still wouldn't sleep for the vibrations. You have been warned. Not being mentioned I feel was maliciously intentional in the pursuit of greed that had significant ramifications on our holiday. I have messaged the Ramada Belconnen twice and have not received a single reply and it has now been over a week and a half. To be fair the room was clean and ample size for sub $200 so I presume it was reduced for obvious reasons although that was not explained at all in any of the booking information nor by the elder gentleman who I presume was the owner. On key return we did tell a staff member of our concerns and they admitted the owner should be honest about the construction. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere unless you're happy to be up and out by 6am when things start stirring in the pit let alone when the jack hammer kicks in 7am.Bathroom was very large but the toilet bowl was comically small with a bench that insists you sit side saddle, got a laugh out of that at least. Update: Owner sent a generic cut and paste apology which was even more insulting and proves this must happen a lot. No offer of refund (or even partial) from the kickbacks he's obviously getting from the building site for using the hotel carpark for storage.
