Awesome views from Gibralter rocks , a great 8km hike. Had a look at the old homestead , light snow on the hike coming in from the mountains only added to the great day we had.

Requirement here to purchase a day or annual pass in order to enter the nature reserve. This was very inexpensive and absolutely worth the money. Once purchased, you can then enter the reserve past the barrier.

There are toilets and a small shop here, with the staff being very friendly.

My favourite escape in Canberra
Lots of trails, picnic sites and a great play area for kids. Birds, wildlife and the outdoors, need more?

Great little place to assist you in everything you need to know about the beautiful nature reserve. Met a lovely volunteer man who assisted us to be able to walk Gibraltar peak. Advised us that there was a way that didn't cost the car entry fee ($10), which we appreciated! Great walk, took about 4 hours but think we went an extra long way. He provided us a map and outlined the way up very clearly. What a gem!

Lovely setting. Large variety of different hikes, walks and experiences on offer within the Wildlife Reserve. Enjoyed wandering around the boardwalk. The Koalas happily posed for photos near the eucalyptus forest walk. Good venues available for picnicking.

While a bit quieter in winter, Tidbinbilla is a great location to see a range of Australian native flora and fauna. Peaceful surrounds, well marked and maintained tracks, and lovely place to see some wildlife that's hard to come by - we stumbled on a cute bandicoot on this trip
