My childhood was spent in Canowindra, so the Old Vic Inn's history was known to me. My husband(not a local)always wanted to stay there when we came to visit family. This time we did and it was fantastic. The hot air balloon Challenge was on. Being in the centre of town, view of the parade and balloons from the balcony was well worth it. Our hosts Alison and Graham were great, Rooms were comfortable and being a guest house we got to meet so many interesting people in the breakfast room or in the small bar around a great fireplace. Also recommend the restaurant when open. Thoroughly recommend a stay there.

We traveled from a very busy and noisy city to canowindra for family matters. We stayed in the family suite in the old vic inn and I instantly fell in love. The charm of the historical building, the old fashioned decor and original features dating years back ( 1800's maybe) the rooms were adorable and comfortable, such a quiet and lovely place to unwind. The owners were brilliant and super kind. An unforgettable experience for my teenagers who adored the place. Hope to visit again soon

Travelled for work (H2O storage solutions) and stayed here, the staff were amazing. Even the owner made us feel very welcome and we will be staying here again. Definitely.

This place is the worst hotel I have ever been to. We had a reservation and yet, last night we had to sleep in the car because the manager never answered the phone or opened the door. We returned in the morning around 8am to ask if there had been any problem with the reservation, but no one answered the door so we decided to call again and the manager finally answered the phone but with the worst attitude and saying "wait for me while I get dressed so I can go to open the door" which took about 15 minutes. She opened the door in her pajamas and with a very bad attitude, basically blaming us for calling late, with terrible and even hostile attention. the room without TV, dirty, neglected, full of dust, without soap in the bathrooms, without hot water, but the worst of all by far is the attention and lack of empathy of the manager. By the way, if you do not have a service schedule published on the internet or in your hotel, it means that your service is 24 hours a day, it is no excuse to stop answering because of the time at which the call is called.

A fairly average accommodation option and pricey for what you get. Very comfortable beds but the ensuite was tired and in need of renovations. No meals or drinks from the bar on Monday nights. Our ensuite door had no door catch, consequently remaining open unless we used a shoe or similar to maintain some privacy.

The Old Vic Inn has lots of old charm, but it does need some new energy.
The staff aren't quite ready for guests with diverse ages, so younger guests can feel a bit out of place with some of the assumptions that the hosts make. The breakfast room is self served and really basic, but that could be lifted up with a few minor changes that aren't expensive.
Our room was nice - very quaint and definitely had some quirks, but we were comfortable.

Staff were friendly and helpful! old fashion building, fireplaces and cute decorations inside. the room was spacious and comfortable. from the window there was a beautiful view of the garden! dinner was not bad but overpriced. breakfast does not contain hot food and has only instant coffee
