I stayed here with some family members in July this year. We only had one night as on a quick but long distance road trip. I've stayed in many joints - all different levels of cost and quality. This - The Queen of the Murchison - felt like a warm blanket. Loving, comforting, quirky and comfortable. The host (I think her name was Joyce but sadly I cant remember now) was the Bomb. She was someone who obviously strives to make this the most pleasant stay going over and above to make you comfortable. Highly recommend.

What a Treasure! If you have ever wanted to stay in a classic old outback hotel but didn’t what the noise of the pub downstairs; this is the place for you! We stayed 2 nights while exploring Cue, Big Bell ghost town and Meekatharra. We booked the family room so we could have an en-suite. Lovely touches like bathrobes and slippers. Extension cords on bedside tables so we could recharge our devices were appreciated! Breakfast was a bonus for me as I’m gluten and lactose free – a wide assortment of cereals, milks, breads and spreads. Our host and her visiting brother were a delight to talk to about a wide variety of topics including local history. Evening meals available on request- we had generous portions of meatloaf and mash potatoes with gravy. Yummy!

A gem of the outback, this charming hotel is a labour of love which shows in the small touches and attention to detail. Loved the dressing gowns and slippers provided, as well as the myriad of options at breakfast, not to mention all the hooks in the bathroom! Joyce is an outstanding host and her heritage artefacts held onsite add to the period charm. Wished we could have stayed longer.

By sheer fortune we booked into the “Queen” for an overnight stay. What a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by Joyce who showed us around. The grand old building has been lovingly restored and furnished. Our room was spacious with its own fridge plus tea and coffee facilities. Complementary toiletries and the use of dressing gowns/slippers was very much appreciated. There was a separate kitchen and lounge area which was very well equipped and the communal bathroom was clean and well stocked with extra toiletries. The continental breakfast was amazing -catering for varied dietary requirements. I counted over 6 different types of breads cereals, coffees, teas and milks. Will definitely be telling all we see about the “Queen”. A beautiful way to experience the hospitality and culture of outback accomodation at its best
