We did the Triple-J Ord River Explorer with sunset tour and it was great. This tour went up to the Argyle dam and back again. Next time I would choose the Discovery with sunset tour which includes the Durek homestead which as it turns out we later missed altogether despite best of intentions. Our Triple-J boat driver/skipper was terrific with information all the way up to the dam while on the way back he answered questions. We had an afternoon tea break on shore with pumpkin scones, muffins and loads of fresh fruit, tea, coffee and water. The sunset was magic. On the way up we saw several freshwater crocs but they were hard to spot. On the way back I had wanted to see more bird life towards sunset but there was very little activity. I would recommend a Triple-J tour.

Highly recommend!! The Triple J Ord River Tour is amazing! The perfect way to spend a day on the water! Such beautiful scenery, lots of wildlife, refreshments on offer - and a very knowledgeable and banter-filled skipper! Shout out to Joey - thanks for a ripper day! ?

What an unbelievable experience we had today with Dylan, our skipper at Triple J Tours. The boat was excellent with seating for 50 & able to cruise at 60kph to cover the 55km trip upstream easily. 900hp!!
Plenty of Crocs & Birds.
Dylan’s knowledge of the area, especially the Ord River Irrigation Scheme, was just exceptional. He delivered his commentary with a great touch of humour & was also able to handle everything in his stride. It looked like a one man show but obviously the team logistics helped. Lunch was great at a secret spot on the river which couldn’t be seen from the water.
The scenery up through the Gorges was so rugged & untouched!!
The trip back with Tony was great with a stopover at the Durack Homestead Museum which was great, especially for the history buffs.
We loved this cruise & would recommend it to all travellers & locals!!

All in all an Ord-some day!!

Absolutely sensational. Our group was told it was a 3 hour tour we ended up 5 minutes short of 4hrs! Robo out boat driver provided so much information and an absolute delight answer all our questions and pointing out so much wild life as well. The afternoon tea stop was delightful and Wow what a spread even pumpkin scones butter and jam, Pur trip was beyond expectation.

Such a fabulous day on Lake Kununurra.
Very informative, friendly and considerate crew.
The boat speed and the quick weaving in and around everything or nothing was my highlight with the spectacular scenery all around.
Afternoon tea was a unique surprise. On the banks of the mighty lake, shade sails covering bench seating where we were served up delicious, scones, cake, fruit.
Sunset at the end of the day, was never going to disappoint.

Wow. What an amazing experience doing the Ord River Sunset cruise, our skipper Joey was knowledgeable, informative and most importantly humorous. Joey made the experience very enjoyable and fun! Highly recommended?

Enjoyable overall but 1st leg to dam quite boring, should opt for the tour that includes Durack Homestead instead. Price on the high side, could include a light packed lunch to make it more competitive, dispense with afternoon tea, include a glass of sparkling wine to make the sunset special.

Such a iconic, unique trip up and down the Ord River System and Kununurra dam. Jeff our tour operator is extremely knowledgeable, with a wonderful rye sense of humour. Thanks so much for my GF n DF cakes. So kind and thoughtful. Saw a super amount of fresh water Crocs ?
