I enjoyed a fabulous trip to Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan hosted by Mike from Summit Travel in May 2024. Fantastic destination with great tour leader (Anton from Intrepid) and wonderful fellow travellers. The itinerary and organisation was excellent-lots of hiking ,shared meals and conversations (Mike has a few stories to tell)
Definitely recommend Mike and his team and this underrated destination.

I've done a couple of tours organised by Mike Wood at Peregrine WA. Both amazing and not cut from the usual tour mould.

Most recent tour was Azerbaijan Georgia and Armenia. Mind blowing to see these very different countries who share the Transcaucasian Trail. Tour consisted of hiking and cultural aspects - with some fantastic food along the way (and I'm vegan!!). Highly rate the tour and Mike Wood at Peregrine.

I booked my trip to Azerbaijan/Georgia/Armenia for several reasons:
1. I’d travelled on 3 trips with Perigrine already, so I knew, weather permitting, that it would be a memorable trip.
2. Reading the trip notes opened my eyes to a whole new area I’d never before contemplated - I felt compelled to check it out.
3. The trip promised mountains - the fabulous Caucasus - how could we resist!
4. My partner wanted to come too - and she speaks the local lingo - perfect - it must have been fate!
Now, post-trip, I can reflect on a wonderful experience. The holiday had the right balance of organised tours and freedom to wander on your own. We had an excellent guide in Anton, who was a font of information, having travelled there extensively. Then we had local guides, who were passionate about their own areas. On top of that, we had artisans organised to show us their wares - we even had a go ourselves - our group showed some talent! And to top it off, local performers were organised, to give us a taste of their culture. Wow!!
I could write a book on this trip - don’t get me started on the great company, fabulous food and drink, and the lovely accommodation….
Mike - you’ve excelled on this one - well done, and thanks for the memories .

Several years ago I did a life-changing trip with these guys to Nepal, over the Everest High Passes. The whole trip went superbly well. This year I ventured to Bhutan, trekking again with Mike and the crew at Peregrine. Once again they were tremendous to travel with. Mike and all the guides bring a unique depth of experience in each of the places we visited, which has been built over many years of personally exploring the world, plus solid preparation and a hands-on approach to everything.

I would like to share my thoughts on my recent trip to Antarctica organised so well by Mike Wood in Perth.I travelled on the Ocean Endeavour leaving Ushuaia 8/2/2023.
We were greeted by a positive, enthusiastic , friendly staff ….all the activities were extremely well organised so each activity ran smoothly. We knew exactly what we had to do and felt safe at all times.The guides went out of their way to ensure that we could do and see as much as possible. The weather was perfect for us so we were able to kayak every day and learned so much from our very knowledgeable experienced guides.’The Plunge’ was fun, food was great , catering for different diets and plenty of variety..Loved listening to the presentations from a variety of speakers who were so passionate about their various fields. They all displayed a love for Antarctica and are determined to keep it as is…I am a teacher and the children I work with are about to learn SO much about Antarctica. …!!

We have just completed the 18-day 310km coast-to-coast hike across England with Mike Wood and we had a wonderful time.
Everything was well organised by Peregrine Travel Perth and, as a very influential person, Mike was even able to dial up some excellent weather while we were huffing and puffing our way up and down mountains in the beautiful Lake District.
Over such a long distance encompassing 3 national parks we faced many challenges including a wide variety of landscapes and weather conditions. Mike is a very experienced tour leader and was always well organised and prepared. We had a lovely group of like-minded hiking companions and together we enjoyed many memorable experiences as we undertook this amazing adventure.
At the end of each day it was always nice to reach our well-chosen accommodation for a hot shower, hot meal and a nice warm bed.
This was our second trip with Peregrine Travel Perth and we certainly recommend them.

We have recently returned from a Tasmania's Wild Walks Trip organised by Mike Wood from Peregrine Travel in conjunction with Inspiration Outdoors. What a fantastic trip it was. Walking many of the different tracks across Tasmania in a variety of weather. Some walks were quite challenging but always took you to a fabulous vista. The trip was well organised, and re-organised due to the challenges of COVID. The accommodation and food were great and our guide from Inspiration Outdoors sensational. We have booked a number of trips through Peregrine and have always been very satisfied with the professionalism, communication and organisation. Would highly recommend them to anyone.

At the start of April, we completed Intrepid's 'Premium Japan' tour that ran between 16 and 27 March. We also took the opportunity to spend a few days in Tokyo before the tour and stayed on in Kyoto for another few days afterwards. We then stopped over in Singapore for a few days on our way back to Perth. Intrepid's tour of Japan was extremely well organised. We enjoyed great accommodation. The tour was designed to make full use of the excellent public transport available in Japan, wherever possible. We travelled on Shinkansen bullet trains, luxury tourist trains, local urban and rural trains, local buses, ferries and on trams - plus a funicular and a cable car. Our excellent intrepid tour guide made sure no time was wasted waiting for transport to arrive, as he got us onto railway platforms every time a few minutes before the train departed. The tour program managed to fit in many great locations in a short period. We visited important shrines, temples, countryside, villages and cities. Japan proved to be a great place for a travel vacation. We also want to thank Mike Wood of Peregrine WA who worked with us to book the tour from the outset.
