Comfortable room, tea making facilities. Unfortunately the pool was having work done so was closed.

after friends dined at the restaurant the prior evening, we dined there. Everything about the meal was great. Fantastic service, the servers were truly helpful and interested in us as diners. ||||The meal orders were taken prompting and meals delivered in reasonable time. Three of us had barramundi, the serving size was overly generous, with the fish and veges been beautifully cooked, a real delight. We really enjoyed.||||After the meal the chef came out to chat to us, he was really proud of the meals he served. r

Lovely spot to camp on the river. Very poor toilet and shower facilities (I think the mens were in better condition), but the restaurant breaky was beautiful! Adequate kitchen facilities. There was a very friendly stray dog to keep us company. Don't drive through after sunset-we had pebbles thrown at us after fuelling up in town!

Overpriced $245 for a donga /room with a blocked shower head, a toilet that ran all night, 1 coffee cup, no spoons ,no blanket and the restaurant not up and running

I was dubious about staying here after reading the reviews however we had a good experience for our 2 night stay in the caravan park. Staff were very friendly at reception and in the restaurant. We had a great meal one night. The pub is pumping but at 5.30pm it closes, the local indigenous people leave and it is very quiet. On both nights, there was only one other van. Area was shady and grassy. Amenities were old but clean. The town of Fitzroy Crossing is also very clean.

Although the overall character and setting of the Crossing Inn is pleasant and historic, our room was very disappointing - very small, poorly appointed, and generally shabby. We noticed a small sign suggesting that the tap water needed to be boiled, but not until after I'd had a drink! This should have been pointed out at reception. The light/fan in our bathroom appeared to be faulty and gave off a burning smell but there was no one in Reception to mention it to, so we ended up showering in the dark for fear of starting a fire. On the plus side our meal at the restaurant was really nice, and service was quick and efficient.

The room they called at the Crossing Inn (I do like the name), a motel room, other similar rooms on my travels I have stayed in called that type of room a bunkroom (or donga), with an ensuite. In other just as remote places the price for these has varies between $75 (with ensuite); that one in Mt Garnet, Croydon with ensuite $89, to about $110. For a similar room, and actually not as good a room as the previous examples, the Crossing Inn charged $222.64. I naïvely thought I was getting a better class of motel room with that price, and rarely pay such prices, so was looking forward to it. No, it was a shabby bunkroom. It wasn't even though that accommodation was tight, as most of the units were empty (I wonder why! It does seem others besides myself were more informed of what was on offer and staying away in droves.)||When I arrived the pub was in full action, with the noisy interaction between the locals, but luckily the bunkrooms were distant enough away not to be worried by the noise. I stayed the previous night up the road in the Kimberley for a similar price, and for that money I got their best room, a whole other class. Also they have opening and closing big security gates. Nothing like that at the Crossing Inn.||Fortunately the Crossing Inn is some distance from town.||I can write anything about the rooms, but the best thing to judge if what I have written is true or not, is to see pictures, so I took photographs. This is what my $222.64 got me in an underutilised bunkroom complex.

This is a wonderful historic hotel that has sadly not been honoured in renovation.
The room we had was very expensive by Australian standards. It was clean newly upgraded and tastefully decorated.
The gardens are old and the canopy forms a beautiful ambience with the fairy lights at night. The outdoor eating is relaxed but expensive with small portions. We had to order wedges to fill us up after our meal.
A lovely place in the Kimberly albeit expensive and poor value for money.
