A really nice day use National Park with easy sealed road access. A few nice walks although the longer ones along the river in the gorge are on soft sand without much shade and can be tough going. The best way to see the gorge however is on the Ranger guided boat cruise that runs every couple of hours. The wildlife is abundant and the scenery spectacular.

This is a great stop over in Fitzroy and not far from the main town., it’s a bitumen road in. We went here just to do the walks and they were excellent. There is also a river cruise here and you don’t need to book, just show up at certain times they are on. The main Jarrambayah walk was an easy 4.4 km return walk and sandy, it takes you through amazing rock formations, there are plaques to read more about the formations also and it’s easy to follow.

It's easy to access the Gorge from Fitzroy Crossing along a bitumen road.
The walks are well marked and easy to access but the cruise is the highlight for us. A very informative commentary and so much to see and photograph.

Very calm river to kayak in.
Fantastic rock formations.
There is a walk along the river as well.
Plenty of wildlife: Freshwater crocs, eagles, crane, crested pigeons and other birds. Locals say there's bull shark in the river too which they often catch while fishing. Therefore not recommended for a swim.

We had a walk beside the river and looked at the cliffs. It took about 45 minutes to get to the end. We returned on the track further up the bank. There's a lot of good information boards about the rocks and plants along the way. The road out is sealed but a bit rough.

In the wet season it is very peaceful and while there are no tours running, we still got to see the freshies and the cliffs and we loved it
