We dined every night for two weeks at the restaurant and most meals are pretty good pub standard meals. You're paying on average $60 for a meal and a drink which. Considering the location it's pretty good.
Waiting staff have been fantastic, always up for a chat and looked after us.

Camped in a non powered site.
Really good facilities, amenities and security.
Police vehicles patrol regularly through the venue, there was no sign of ‘locals’ prowling the campsites, there were plenty in the bar though.
This place has a nice cold pool, hot showers and toilets that are cleaned daily. Sites are shady and you’ll be camping on grass on all sites instead of dirt. Lots of room to spread out.
Has a bar and restaurant, food is ok, although a bit expensive for what it is. I paid $52 for a steak pub meal and $10 for a schooner.
There are laws around full strength beer? etc in this place too. Look it up so you’re aware.

We really wanted to like this accommodation because it could really be great.
The camp area is quite the hike to the restaurant and pool.
We had a drink at the bar as we waited for the restaurant to open. After waiting, we found out that it was 'Sunday Roast' only and that it was $45pp ? it was a all you can eat buffet style, but there was no way I was paying that much for Sunday roast. Would have been nice to of at least had a limited menu in addition to the Sunday Roast and to have been advised at reception when we asked about dinner.
Facilities were clean, and wifi was weak at camp-site.

This is a pleasant caravan park although all the warning signs and security issues were a little alarming. The sites are big and there is shade, even Brolga wandering through the place. The bathrooms are adequate and the staff friendly. Pretty good for being so remote.

We have checked in early evening and got a camping ground as there were no room when we arrived. That night, we weren't warned that there's rampant car theft was going on few hours later during our sleep we got our camping tent slashed during our sleep and they, Aboriginal boys got our four wheel drive at 2 am, woken up by the sound of our engine saw them took off. We have lost everything we owned. Car, Phone litteraly only had what we had on. Police didn't bother come to check too.||That morning, we heard that there was 3 cars stolen and 6 boys involved but they did not bother give us anymore information. Matter of fact, at the reception they do give away a brochure when checking in warning of theft but we didn't even received it at all. I only found out our neighbouring camping caravan that they were given those information not us at all.||We were naive that we will be safe that we were under their camping ground but it was not at all safe. We went through hell and got flight back home by using friends credit card and what we went through in a place so remote having to deal with all the phone calls that i had to make and deal with was so too much. Police found our car and we were left on our own device arranging to tow away by helping of insurance company before they go back to burn our car for fun i heard. it was such dangerous place to be.

Stayed for two nights on pwd site. Staff are friendly. Amenities were clean but need some updating which will be happening soon. |Had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Great to see the bridge coming along. I felt that fitzroy lodge is the a great asset to this area. No complaints here.

We did a lot of camping during our trip and this was the worst and most expensive one ! (We had an unpowered site). The facilities were very old and dirty. It looked like they didn’t care about campers and their conditions and didn’t take care of what was provided for campers. The condition of the camp kitchen made me want to skip dinner !

Stayed here on a powered site on 11/8. Book online to guarantee a spot. I had called at first but was told that they don't take bookings and it's first come first serve, when I mentioned their online booking facility the response was confusing so I booked online anyway and it worked. Sites are not allocated so arrive before 12pm in order to get a good site. There was something wrong with the pool, it was discoloured, and although we were assured it was ok to swim, we chose not to. The bar and restaurant are a relatively long walk from the caravan sites so, at night, take a torch or drive up. The ablutions are dated but very clean. We had a drink at the bar which was fine, missed the cocktail hour but that was our fault and can't comment on the restaurant. My rating is largely because our site was dry and dusty with all the grassy sites already occupied.
