The retro place with retro prices we need. The milkshakes are phenomenal and huge serving in their amazing stainless steel cups. An unpretentious joint that takes you back to good old days

Traditional old school deli with gourmet sandwiches made to order, fresh made dishes hot/cold (lasagne, coleslaw, quiche etc), fresh bread, meats & cheeses, milk bar style shakes and lollies jar display etc. Very welcoming and refreshing from usual cafe's... Owner/Cook is fantastic..

An absolute gem of a shop. Visited this quaint "shoppe" post NYE when most places had a "trading break" and this day the owner was serving customers by herself. The shop has a great range of cold meats, condiments, cheeses, and assortment of vegetables for rolls, sandwiches... plus things like spinach feta slices, and quiches. Good old drinks like "Spiders". Cakes, cheese cakes...But wait, there's more... the variety of lollies lining the length of the display shelves! A jukebox, olde items like hat and coat hangers, interesting pictures and items of days gone by. Eat-in or takeaway... casual, unhurried and patronised by a steady stream of locals. She was doing a marvellous job serving a steady flow of customers by herself. A must visit when in Camden.

One of the best lunch stops in Camden. Lovely fresh sandwiches with a large variety of fillings. Love the homemade sweet and savoury dishes. The lemon tart is always a must as is the quiche Lorraine. Large variety of lollies for kids young and old. Always friendly service. Love to support local small business.

If you are old enough to know the meaning of the term 'Milk Bar', you'll understand the nostalgic feel of the Argyle. It's an eatery and delicatessan, with a wide range of meats, cheeses and fine food. Throw in some tables and a fine menu board and you have the perfect place to satisfy any taste and appetite. Great hot and cold beverages to complete the meal, or if you prefer, an old fashioned milk shake. To top it off you can choose from ( I'm guessing) around 50 old lolly jars filled with traditional confectionery any baby boomer would be familiar with. I've probably missed something, as it's the complete deal when it comes to this style of eatery. Highly recommended you go along and show the family how it used to be when you were a kid.
