I honestly hate to leave this review, but I want future brides to have a realistic expectation of what might happen on their wedding day. I recently attended a wedding that this company managed. When I arrived, there was no team member present to direct the guests where to sit. We were all looking at each asking where do we sit. Is there a groom’s side or bride’s side? We finally just all took random seats. After sitting, I noticed a very flimsy paper runner down which the bride was supposed to walk. The guests were not instructed to avoid walking on the flimsy runner, so I had to tell her guests to walk around the runner. The guest sitting next to me was asked to read a poem, but he had no idea at what point in the ceremony he was supposed to read the poem, nor did he know where to stand to read the poem. The bride apparently wanted the poem read before she walked down the aisle. Before the poem was read, the song to which the bride was supposed to walk down the aisle started playing. The bride, however, did not come out. At this point, there was a scramble to figure out why she did not come out. Finally, I saw a team member and she told the gentleman sitting next to me that he needed to read the poem. After he read the poem, the bride’s song played again. It was extremely clumsy because the song was played by a saxophonist who had just delivered a very passionate performance and then had to deliver the same performance again. The element of surprise for which song she chose to walk to was gone. We had all just heard it. When the bride came out, she was unaccompanied and her veil fell off. She had to fix her veil in front of all of her guests before beginning her walk down the aisle. Someone from the team should have been there to monitor her train and veil. The ceremony finally started and there were no rings!!! I can’t understand how the team did not know where the rings were and who was handing them to the bride and groom. Totally mismanaged ceremony. I later asked the bride why she had such a flimsy aisle runner because it disintegrated after she walked on it with her heals. She told me that the team leader told her the day of the ceremony that the company does not provide runners, so she had to get an emergency delivery from Michaels craft store. All of that could have been avoided if the team leader told the bride upfront that they do not provide aisle runners and that she needed to order one. It’s simple, practical advice that you expect from a so called expert. I’m giving two stars because the venue was decorated beautifully. But every guest that I spoke with said that the management of the wedding was horrible. The team leader did admit to having three simultaneous weddings that day. Maybe her staff was overwhelmed. But this was a six figure wedding that deserved much more attention and better management. Finally, I was involved in the year long planning process. The team leader steered the bride to overpriced vendors from whom she received a commission. The team leader recommended the florist, and we found that these beautiful tropical arrangements were stuffed with fake flowers. The bride was charged for real flowers, not silk flowers. Totally unethical. I would never recommend this company to anyone. You can find plenty of planners that can create a beautiful design and can also manage your wedding responsibly and ethically.

My husband and I interviewed several event planners prior to going with Jamésa and Jayne Heir Events as event planner for our wedding in Richmond, Virginia. Her transparency and enthusiasm for the wedding planning process made Jamésa standout from her peers. Throughout the planning process, she made every effort to timely communicate with us whether that be via text/call or bi-weekly meetings. She was an ideal advocate when it came to dealing with our vendors and handling all issues as they arose as well as negotiating on our behalf.

Jamésa did a phenomenal job at bringing our vibrant wedding ideas to life. We had a very distinct vision for the look and feel of our wedding and she came up with some wonderful ideas to make it the wedding of our dreams.

I would also recommend Jayne Heir because of Jamésa’s experience and connection to some of the best vendors in the DMV area and beyond. Since we were not local to the area it was a huge relief to have a planner that had worked closely with most of our vendors in the past.

Overall, Jamésa was an absolute joy to spend the days, weeks, and months with planning such a big moment in our lives which is more than what you can ask for in a planner.

I loved working with Jamesa! I am absolutely clueless when it comes to planning events, and she was a godsend. I didn't have to lift a finger the day of my wedding. I just arrived, and everything looked gorgeous! One of my guests told me it was the best wedding she had ever attended. She went above and beyond throughout the entire process, including by running to the store the night before when one of the vendors made an error! I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone I know getting married.

Jamesa and her team was amazing from start to finish and even after. She made the entire planning process seamless and easy. She incorporated tools to help us monitor and track our budget/spending. Had a plethora of suggestions for each vendor as well as tips and tricks to save money as well as maximize the value we were getting.

Wedding Day went down without a single issue as the Jayne Heir team dotted every "i" and crossed every "t" and was allowed my wife and I to be in the moment and truly enjoy our day.

Not only was Jamesa and her team extremely professional they were also very accessible as well easy to talk to. I would recommend them 10 times out of 10 and will definitely be going back to them for the vow renewal.

Where to begin! Jamésa and her team at Jayne Heir Weddings and Events helped us to plan a luxury baby shower in our home and we were completely blown away from our entire experience with this company. They are the epitome of professionalism and efficiency. I never had to follow up, they kept us on track with our timeline, and helped us make critical choices when we were reaching the max of our budget. I had a vision of an over the top, glamourous shower and I was worried that it would be difficult to transform the space with the budget we had. I was wrong and Jamésa was right about everything; just listen to her and everything will be fine. We were as involved as we wanted to be and I knew that if I did not have time or did not know the right choice to make I could rely on this team to make the final decision and nail it. It was also important to me to support Black owned businesses and I was happy to see our vendor list was reflective of that desire. I would also be remiss if I did not also brag on Jamésa's team-- they executed the day of event flawlessly; were responsive to feedback and just took all the stress away so my husband and I could be present on a special day. If you are looking to have your expectations exceeded, and have someone who respects your budget--this is the team to hire.
