A great drive with some side drives and spectacular mountain scenery. The Great Alpine Road is definitely worth the time. Not in winter of course unless you are a skier.

A fantastic huge national park covering quite a bit of the Victorian Alpine Region. So many great walking tracks, fantastic in summer when the weather is warmer and all the wildflowers are out.

We spent the Day driving from Licola to Dargo....what a spectacular day.

Be aware the 4x4 tracks are challenging, and extremely slippery in the wet. The all weather road was fine.

I climbed the stair case to the Mt Bogong summit and back again in about 10hrs. A very hard walk, not for the faint hearted.

Great place to Mountain bike during the off season. Others into hiking or horse riding. Excellent free camping, bike hub in village has some bike spares, maps and shuttles. Bike parts vending machine in main village is cool, see pic. A couple of other places in the village hire MTB bikes. Love "Flow Town", but a long ride up if you don't have a shuttle ticket. Lots of friendly people camping, riding and more made some new friends.

The Wild flowers in February is spectacular! I was told that the wild flowers are even more amazing in December!! Wow!

Once getting up here, the walks here are generally of easy grade, allowing a relaxing time to visit the many huts around the area. The huts are another feature of the Alpine area.

The national has had some great work done to it in terms of cleaning up tracks & signage. It is a beautiful place with a variety of wonderdul sights to see. Filled with wildlife and places to stop, relax & have a picnic.
It is unfortunate that people visiting the pack do not take their rubbish with them, especially alcohol cans it seems.
