After contacting several "on line" Sri Lanka travel agents we went with Carl from Your trip because we received the best and most timely responses to our initial queries. My wife and I laughed when we found out that our "on line" agent lived just around the corner from us in Melbourne. Once we decided on Carl as our agent we found the process of working out our itinerary, which was based on an initial draft from Carl, to be seamless. Carl made it very clear that this was our trip and he was there to work with us to plan the trip that we wanted, rather than having to keep to a set itinerary. We were very selective in what we wanted to do and where we wanted to stay and Carl was very patient and flexible in this process. Carl even visited us at our place to go over the final draft in detail.
We loved our Sri Lanka holiday, from the moment our driver picked us up from the airport (at 2am in the morning) until we arrived back in Melbourne. Having a dedicated driver for the entire trip was definitely worthwhile, as having someone with local knowledge, good humor, and knowing when to make small changes along the way, really helped make our trip as good as it was. Interesting in that other travelers we met along the way, and you do keep bumping into the same people at different places, did not seem to have as good an experience with their driver, so driver selection can make a big difference.
We are frequent travelers and this is the first time we have used an agent to arrange the entirety of our holiday. I think touring Sri Lanka lends itself to such an arrangement, but also having someone like Carl working with us in setting out an itinerary and planning the detail of the holiday was definitely worth while.
We would definitely recommend Carl and Your Trip to anyone planning a holiday to this lovey country.

Sri Lanka with Your Trip. I had no idea my second trip to Sri Lanka within a year would be so fantastically interesting and entertaining - but it was. Carl Halpin was efficient and delightful to deal with to finalise our itinerary and to book. Flying direct Melbourne to Negombo airport, we were met by our guide and everything went extremely smoothly from the first minute. Such an interesting country - we saw and learned about cultural events, traditional dancing, ancient history in the cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnuwara, contemporary buddhist culture and celebrations, the fantastic Dambulla Caves. Then viewing the elephants in safari parks, the wonders of the highlands and tea country. Kandy's spectacular botanical garden, hiking the unique Horton Plains, climbing Sigirya rock, relaxing on the beaches around Galle, and much more. And all done experiecing the comfort of an air conditioned small van, staying in idyllic accommodation, and eating the most delicious foods. Thank you Your Trip.
