Had a function to attend. Well set out. Set meal entree pork with fabulous cracking and bok choy or a crumbed calamari which I believe was good. Beer generous serves. Main course was lamb with gravy and broccolinion on a bed of potatoes which was nice. Others had the chicken with potatoes and apparently was very dry. Watch out for cracks on dance floor as heels get caught in them. Overall a lovely night.

Took the inlaws for dinner to the bistro and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service provided. The meals were delicious, good sized servings and plenty of options for fussy eaters. The staff were friendly and efficient. The area is spacious with ample seating (not noisy at all) and a lovely view of the course. Very much enjoyed by all

Visiting Ballarat for a few days and manager at accommodation recommended we try golf club for a meal. Went Sunday night. Meal was delicious, meat very tender and so so tasty, great selection of veggies accompanied meal. Staff very welcoming and service excellent. Loved it so much went back Monday night and have booked a table for Tuesday night as well. Thoroughly recommend for a very enjoyable meal and wonderful service from their beautiful staff

Same great service, venue and experience

Well, what a fabulous experience this was. A large group of us had a meal at the Ballarat Golf Club Bistro at 1800 Sturt St, Alfredton. I found the service at this high volume bistro just outstanding. The servers were friendly, welcoming, and prompt and all of their tasks were carried out with a smile. I had the Crispy Beef Stir-fry with a side of garlic bread. The meal was just sensational. I was also very impressed the speed from order to delivery of our meals considering the number of people we had. It looks like you can dine inside or out. The view of the golf course through the large full-length windows from the bistro adds whole other level of luxe to the dining experience. Most enjoyable. Well done team!

We drove from Geelong to try the lunch menu after reading the great reviews.
The service was excellent and prices reasonable.
We had the seniors lunch,, fish and chips.
The fish was extremely dry, chips seemed reheated and the salad was fresh.
Very disappointed and won't be back.
I suggest avoid the seniors meals.

Amazing location, great views. Ample room to move and great seating. Very friendly staff and great service. It's clean and tidy. Plenty of parking too. The menu is simple, great choices. Every plate that passed the table looked delicious. I'd highly recommend the ribs.

Great course and it was in stunning nick when we spent two days playing there during the week. Quite a challenge even from the forward tees and is very strategic due to big bunkers and water hazards. A Thompson/Perret design and very playable for all. On the second time around, it got a lot easier and I managed to eagle the driveable par four 16th, which made the day a memorable one. We had perfect weather, the members we played with were very kind to us as visitors and the clubhouse and facilities are top class. Pro shop staff were helpful and gave good advice. Well worth a trip if you want to experience one of the best regional Victorian tracks.
