Amazing experience! Loved a sceneries around. Wild wombats were icing on the cake. But make sure you won't intimidate them by loud noises or please don't try to touch them.

The best way to experience the whole life is by being away from it.

Cradle Mountain, loved it! My wife and I completed a 15klm walk to the base of Cradle Mountain. My wife would not describe herself fit by any means and yes she was very sore the next day…. We were not prepared for the amount of snow that went through…if you are just going to Marions lookout you will not get any snow as in these pictures (depending what time of year of course)(we went in late November). Needless to say our feet got a little wet, not too bad though and with the dry wind we dried out pretty quick. We started at Ronnies Creek, went up via Horse Trail, via Scout Hut, via Crater plateau to Kitchens Hut. It was at crater plateau that we encounter a fair bit of snow, up until them the trail was a constructed board walk, then turned into a trail. We found this side of the walk pretty easy apart from needing a rest regular to catch our breath from the incline. Crater plateau had the most amazing views from the lookout! It was pretty windy, mind your step, there are no barricades, my wife who does not really like heights, did not go the extra 70 meters to the edge of the lookout. We headed on to kitchens hut and had lunch before heading onto Marion’s lookout. We are so glad we went Horse trail direction… Marion’s lookout there was a lot of people on the track and a lot at the lookout… the one person only sections where you have to use the chain and rail to hold onto meant you had to wait a little longer than you would expect. It is very very steep this section and the chain to hold onto is essential. You need to be able to support yourself here. We then headed on down to Wombat pool, Lake Lilla and Dove Lake. We caught the shuttle bus back to Ronnie creek and then walked from Ronnie to Snake Hill. This section of the walk (Snake hill) is often neglected but it is a board walk the entire way and the only part of the trail we saw animals such as Echidna, wombat and Wallabies. It is a great section of walk to do, if you are only wanting a short walk I would do this one, but start at the Rangers station and walk to Ronnies creek, it is almost down hill the entire way and you can catch the shuttle bus back out.
