I'm not that into mountain biking, but I went on the Blue Derby Pods Ride 3-day experience with my partner who IS really into mountain biking. Both of us LOVED it. Our guides Misty and Finn were exceptional, attentive to our every need and just fun people to hang out with. They cater to any skill level on the bike (mine being low and my partner's being high). There was only 1 other guest on our trip (total of 3 guests) but I think even with the max of 8 guests they would be able to cater to everyone well. The food is amazing! I'm still dreaming about it. And we loved the wine and beer selection. Even if I didn't bike at all, I would have still loved it. The trails in derby are definitely challenging for me, but the guides are great with helping improve your skills. It is truly a first-class experience. Pricey, but it's worth it if you can afford it.

You know when you find something so good, you have a momentary thought that you don’t want to share how good it is, so you can keep it all to yourself? Well the Blue Derby Pods are that place for me. What a beautifully and sustainably designed place in the heart of the Derby world class MTB network.

We went with a group with varying MTB skill levels. This proved no issue for our expert Experience leaders who bent over backwards to ensure the time was adventurous, fun and memorable. The keen riders hit the hard trails and the e bikers took the less strenuous but incredibly scenic options.

Paired with the sauna and massage, this little slice of heaven on Earth ticked all the boxes.

We didn’t have to lift a finger, not even to make a cuppa. We were truly spoilt with our guides care and expertise and the abundance of local Tasmanian produce that was absolutely delicious.

Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to one of these experiences. We will be back!

First the negatives. Blue Derby Pods Ride has ruined mountain biking for me. After day 2 I said: "this is my best day ever riding". After day 3 I said: "now this is my best day ever riding". And that's even taking into account I probably cracked a rib midway through the day. I fear I will never have a better day on a bike. Also I started my 4 day trip the lightest and fittest I've ever been in my life (at 63). 4 days later, my "lightest" accomplishment was out the window (the food on this trip really is next level). OK, my "negatives" really are just testament to how wonderful the whole experience is. Our fantastic guides/chefs/medics/new friends Dani and Fin made this trip a highlight of my life. I can't imagine there is a prettier place in the world to ride. Everything is impeccably well organised, yet completely flexible for varying skill, weather, whim and health conditions. Thoroughly recommended and I'll be back. Thanks to everyone.

Thank you to this team for a spectacular experience. We thought this was to be a leisurely easy going bike ride with a beginner aspect but it was more advanced. We enjoyed bushwalking swimming and drove to the bay of fires. A lot of effort from the friendly enthusiastic crew.

We had an absolutely sensational time up at the pods last month. The experience itself is incredible, with the best part being the level of fun the whole team bring.

The access to one of the best mountain bike parks in Australia is second to none, but you feel as though you are completely in the wilderness with the serene quiet and relaxing nature the pods offer.

There is something for everyone in this experience, with great food, beautiful conversation, relaxing energy and some incredible mountain biking. Book it while you can!

These guys deserve nothing but 5 stars. We booked as a group for 8 riders of varying fitness and riding abilities. Communication was faultless from the beginning and nothing was too difficult for Tara and Steve to answer / accommodate. There was plenty of trepidation when we started but our guides Dani and Charlie did an amazing job of measuring the group's abilities... and tailoring the experience to meet ALL the needs of the group. Trails were selected to challenge but not overwhelm. Many of us came out much better riders. Our guides seemed to know every root and rock and line on the trail and provided plenty of guidance. Many have commented on the food and accommodation being fantastic (completely agree!); however, I find that the level of attention, service and professionalism was unbelievable.

I rarely write testimonials but had to make an exception this time. Steve and his crew, Dani, Finn and Ros have simply thought of everything in packing some pretty challenging MTB into a luxury experience.

The tracks and terrain wind through exotic forest the likes of which you'll not see anywhere else in the world. OK, so I haven't been everywhere but I have been to quite a few places.

The day starts with a coffee at the front door of one's pod, and keeps improving from there. After gourmet breakfast it's off to the trails to work-up an appetite for the gourmet lunch, more trails, then - you guessed it - a gourmet dinner all with an emphasis on sustainabilty, local produce and great taste.

No shortage of chill time getting to know the other guests over a beveridge or two around the fireplace or watching sunset on the deck. And no limits to the extremity of the MTB for anyone seeking that.

Forget about flying around the world - you can have an amazing short break just across Bass Strait.

Australia is crying-out for more tourism experiences like this. We need more people who think about sustainability like Steve and his crew. After all, if you can run a luxury tourism facility off-grid in Tasmania you can do it for anything anywhere!

I did the 3 day ride. Was beautiful, weather was great & I went in August. The guys at Blue Derby Pods Ride are the nicest people on the planet and the accommodation, the rides, absolutely everything is so worth doing this trip. Highly highly recommend.
