John was as highly recommended to us by another guide. John certainly knew his wines along with the Barrossa Valley and surrounding areas. His knowledge of the region and history was incredible..
John put together a fabulous day of wine tasting in some stunning wineries with super wines and a lovely spot for lunch.
Being wine lovers and living in the UK and Switzerland we have visited most wine regions in France and this has been by far our best experience all thanks to John..

Absolute best wine tour experience we’ve had over the course of two days with JR. He deserves more than five stars. His knowledge is incredible - wine, local history, the vineyards and their owners, winemakers and staff, but he has the best way of giving you as much or as little as you’d like. If we wanted to talk flowers - he’d talk flowers. Or the origin of the name McLaren Vale - he’d explain with a story. He’s clearly so familiar with the area and tailored two perfect days for us. Visiting from the US, we wanted to try a variety of wines across McLaren Vale and Barossa with a leaning toward wines we can’t get at home. JR delivered all of that and more. Such a friendly demeanor. Made the wine and the region accessible and fun. I’d tell all of my friends and family to book with Valley to Vale to experience the best of South Australia’s wine country.

We had a great day with JR in the Barossa valley tasting excellent wines from different wineries. The morning was planned and the afternoon adapted to our desires. He booked a nice lunch- place for us.
His knowledge about the valley, it‘s history and the great amount of cellars is hugh and impressive.
We can recommend him and come again!

JR organised a wonderfully unique and tailor-made tour of the McLaren Vale for my husband and I to celebrate my 40th b’day.
We were picked up from our accommodation in the McLaren Vale and taken to some wineries that we would not have organised on our own. The wines were fantastic and JR had a good knowledge of the wineries.
It felt like such a personalised experience as we shared a glass of Grenache with one of the winemakers. We finished the day with a sunset gin at Never Never distillery before JR dropped us off at our restaurant for our dinner reservation at Star of Greece.
The tour was such a great way to sample the best of the McLaren Vale without having to designate a driver! Would highly recommend!
