Excellent Trip for the Single Traveler!

I stayed in a Single Cabin which, for many including couples, seemed to be the preferred option as you could sit in either direction and there was more legroom.

The Single 'Solo' Cabin is incredibly well designed. They thought of everything. I really loved the design and they seem to be the latest design addition so the whole Solo Cabin Carriage seems to be the most new.

The food was spectacular and the staff really lovely. Normally introverted, I was apprehensive about dining with others but meeting people ended up being one of the highlights of my trip.

I did Perth to Adelaide stopping at Kalgoorlie and Cook which were fantastic!

TIP : Bring earplugs as it can be noisy on the tracks on some legs. Pack less! They will store your larger luggage but you won't be access it until the end of your trip.
No USB ports so pack and charger.

HIGHLIGHTS The food. The Kalgoorlie super pit was awesome. The super trucks were huge!

I was surprised to discover this is owned by an American company. Overall the train was great but myself and other guests noticed it did need a good, detailed clean inside. It looked a little tired in some parts but nothing too bad

Untrustworthy company - best to avoid their brands.

I booked a tour to the Horizontal Falls via Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures, owned by Journey Beyond.

Although I booked months in advance, HFSA changed the date of my tour only days beforehand. They told me I had to accept the change or cancel. But - because it was less than 14 days before the flight if I cancelled I lost my full fare. They changed the date of the tour and - in violation of the terms of the booking - insisted I had no choice but to accept that date or lose my money.

I finally got a representative of HFSA to agree to a full refund but JB never issued it. Weeks later they have yet to respond.

It is disappointing this corporate monster owns some of Australia's best known tourist attractions.

I travelled from Perth to Adelaide in September. The trip was fine, but I decided there was no reason to continue to receive more emails. The unsubscribe button does not work, and after ringing Journey Beyond and being assured they would stop, the emails have started again.

The Ghan trip for 12 days stopping in Uluṟu for 12 days still. Flying from Alice Spring to Darwin then back to Perth. Then spending 9’days in quarantine.

I travelled on the Ghan two years ago. I didn’t
make it through to Adelaide. I was locked in Uluṟu. For a lot longer because Alice Springs was in lockdown. I didn’t mind being in Uluṟu for longer because it made me feel so relax in Uluṟu. It was still 12 days as the train trip would of been.

I just got back from being in Adelaide for 8 days. I had credit on my travel on the Ghan train.

The Ghan was cancelled twice because of Co-vid. This was the third time. As you would say third time lucky.

It was such a good experience on the Ghan and Indian Pacific seeing the changing of the landscape on the Nullarbor Plain the staff was amazing. From making up the cabins and serving the food and drinks. The food was a three course meal. It was so amazing presented, very tasty and the right amount to eat.

I do not recommend Journey Beyond Ghan or IP. Spoke with my experiences with the Manager who admonished me for my complaints even several years ago. He wanted to cut me off. My journeys were bad. My experience annoyed him and my post wanted to cut me off. It is an overpriced service. You will not see much as service travels during night. He threatened me re my post on FB. He said I only complain. Not true. But will never use the Chan or IP. Staff were rude. Unable to lock cabin or use safe. Many other problems. Air con broke down on club card. No apology or compensation as had to spend all time in cabin from Alice. He wanted to cut off call. I said once bitten twice shy. I will not give his name unless you ask. I only complain when bad service. He brought up other cases that he has no idea of. If you want to waste your money and see little then that is up to you.
