I just got married on the 19th and initially i was planning on doing everything myself. Once i started looking into things i became quite overwhelmed with the choices and prices and decided maybe i needed some help. We looked into many options however stumbled across The Modern Approach, after one phone call enquiry with Emily i knew she was the one i wanted to help me. Not only did we not know what we wanted but we had no idea how to bring what we did want to life. Emily was incredible at knowing what we wanted and how to execute it, once i saw the finished product on the day i was almost in tears with how much we loved it. I couldn’t recommend hiring Emily and her team enough they absolutely nailed every little detail!!!

From our first phone call with Emily, we knew we needed her help! She assured us she was a bit of a perfectionist and from a fellow perfectionist we knew Emily would make sure everything was flawlessly in place. And she DELIVERED! Our wedding exceeded any and all expectations we had thanks to Emily and her team.

Our initial meeting, we went over possible styling themes and Emily produced three different mood boards based on that. From meeting with us she recommended the one she felt we had focussed more time speaking about. She got to know us and further refined and produced a comprehensive dreamy/luxe styling concept we felt truly captured us. She even had some bespoke ideas thrown in there which we loved!

As an indecisive bride quite overwhelmed by endless ideas – Emily kept our vision on track, especially when I came out with stray ideas. When we got overwhelmed Emily was so kind and patient going over the details again, whether that be an extra phone call of assurance or a meeting at a café with physical samples to show us how it would all come together – Emily was so dedicated and easy-going with us in a busy time in our lives. We put full trust in Emily, and she consistently gave us confidence in her recommendations and all our selections.

Emily truly is highly experienced in what she does, and incredibly organised answering all our questions so promptly. Having Emily in our corner to help plan our day, really was amazing. We loved that we didn’t need to worry about running around or getting our family and friends to do anything for us in the lead-up to the day. We wanted our guests to enjoy our wedding day with us, and no one needed to lift a finger. Emily and her team took the unnecessary stress out of planning and set-up, and the amount of work put into just the day (and days either side of your wedding) itself with pick-ups drop-offs, set-up, repurposing and pack-down – is worth every cent spent (I can’t stress that enough)!

Hiring The Modern Approach was the best decision we made in planning our wedding. Many of our guests have commented on how stunning the entire day was specifically the attention to detail. The level of detail and perfectionism put into our day, we would not have been able to achieve ourselves and we are so incredibly grateful and thankful for the work put into making it simply magical. Our only regret was not engaging Emily sooner to help with supplier/vendor selections!

If you are thinking you need support planning your day, are incredibly busy or just don’t enjoy planning your wedding (completely understandable) or you feel overwhelmed by the seemingly limitless options – you need Emily and her team. She will get to know you and come up with something that reflects you and your partner and execute all the necessary details and liaising to make it your perfect day, AND it will be better than you imagined it to be!

When doing my own research and phone interviews on many planners/stylists (yes this is crucial!), I seriously could not find anyone else that matched Emily at the Modern Approach and her amazing team.
Her high level of experience, talent, passion, vision, detail and such kind, genuine, positive personality won me over. Emily was my stress free “go to girl” and we were suuuch a great team together. At the end of the day, you have to trust your own gut and then trust the professionals you choose.
So the best decision my partner and I made throughout the wedding process was gaining Emily… as we truly do not think the wedding would have been what it was without her, in the lead up and on our wedding day!

If I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would! I had the most seamless experience with The Modern Approach (Emily). I picked the full planning package and have no regrets. I honestly cannot recommend Emily enough. My fiancé and I were in search of a coordinator to assist us with our Adelaide Hills wedding at the end of 2022, and after speaking to a number of Adelaide wedding planners, I still felt I hadn't connected with someone, until I approached Emily. Her warm, friendly and genuine demeanour immediately let me know I was placing my trust in the right person. My (now) husband and I are the furthest thing from event planners, and all I had was an idea in my head that was substantiated by a few photos I had found on Pinterest for inspiration. I had no idea how to execute it, but from the beginning Emily was right there on the same page and truly brought my ideas to life. We opted for a cottage/whimsical feel to match the beautiful Golding's Winery estate, with a balance of masculine and feminine elements to complement us both as a couple. Emily obliged and created a gorgeous concept that my husband and I both immediately resonated with. I threw Emily a curveball when I disclosed how I wanted our ceremony; circular with a viewpoint for every guest (see below). It was a genuine risk, I had never seen it in person, nor had Emily, however she took it in stride and we worked together to figure out the best outcome. I can honestly say I was blown away with how it turned out.

Other than design concept and execution, there were a number of standout points when working with Emily that only enhanced my review of the Ever After team's work (now The Modern Approach)

* Communication was always forthcoming - emails or phone call touch points were always available

* Organisation - Emily was always on the forefront of organisation, I rarely had to follow up with anything, and if I did it was usually because I was pre-empting something, not because it hadn't been taken care of.

* Pricing - Emily's quotes either internal or for external vendors were almost entirely accurate and always transparent. I hit budget and any time an idea was more expensive than I expected, Emily went out of her way to find an alternative.

* Precision - I was expecting the team to just eyeball a circular set up and create it based off a visual inspection, but Emily contacted a landscaper to attend on-site on the day to perfectly measure out the space.

*Forward thinking - further to the last point, Emily was always thinking about where things could go wrong or wouldn't look up to her standard - her reason for employing a landscaper was on the off chance our photographer/videographer used a drone for our wedding photos, she didn't want it to look off centre (this was something I never would have thought about) amongst so many other things during the planning process.

*Vendor connections - all of her recommendations I took. They were reasonably priced and what they produced far exceeded my expectations.

*Patience - I had immense trouble figuring out the formatting for our table planning and it was probably the only real stress I endured throughout. This was evident in my phone calls, and Emily not only took multiple phone calls from me, but reassured me and guided me through the process. Most importantly, she didn't make me feel stupid for something that seemed like a relatively simple task.

We honestly could not have had the wedding day we did without Emily and the Ever After team's input - we truly were in awe of what she created. Even though we had seen it in the concept documents beforehand, it was just another level seeing it in it's actual form.

If you're looking for an Adelaide wedding coordinator/planner that can help you bring your creative vision to life, doesn't exceed your budget and goes well and truly above and beyond for you, you will not be disappointed with Emily and her team.

I initially didn't think I would need a planner but with all of the overwhelm of having our wedding at a dry hire venue, I am SO GLAD that I changed my mind and reached out to Emily. I cannot emphasise enough how much I am affirmed with the decision to book The Modern Approach. They are a perfect blend of logistics and directedness, vision and cohesion, and calmness and warmth. I highly recommend them, especially if you are having a dry hire wedding as they coordinate all of the delivery and set up. You can't put a price on the convenience of not having to DIY anything or set up/pack up items the day before/after. I would gladly work with them again in a heartbeat.
