Hotel newly owned by a local young couple. The hotel has kept a lot of its originality and history. Meals were fantastic, rooms were spacious. We even had a poet reciting the history of Banjo Patterson, honestly I thought this would be pretty bordering but found it quite fascinating as he explained his entire life. This was provided free by the hotel staff. We then went to the Dinosaur museum and bought a couple of boulder opal necklaces.

Lovely history laden hotel in the main street. We chose an art deco room (15) with one queen and a single which was light, quiwt, spacious and comfortable with a shared balcony overlooking the main street (which turned out to be quieter that rooms overlooking the beer garden). Modern quiet air conditioning plus a fan. Lots of milk and biscuits provided by the friendly young staff. |We didn't dine there as the options for us were pretty limited compared with other places.|It would have been go to have a "do not disturb" sign to put on the door. but apart from that a great stay.

Would love to put pics up. Filthy shower. No door on toilet. Couldn't as legs stuck out past door way. Empty tissue boxes. Curtains didn't fit windows. Very dated room. Dining room tables not cleaned. Couldn't get a call in or out on either of our phone networks. I was spoken to rudely by the chef. Couldn't get a worse place. As I said would love to show photos.

Stopped there for an included meal on a tour. Our tour had the choice of fish n chips plus salad or beef sausages , mash, topped with mushy peas. I had a very welcome cold beer. Quick service and good sized meals. Lovely to be seated in the private dining room.

We spent 2 nights here to visit the Dinosaur museum. It's a bit dated, but it was very convenient for walking to Arno's Wall, and the Waltzing Matilda museum. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The meals we had were good. Our room faced the road, directly above some outdoor seating, so it was a bit noisy on Saturday night with people talking and laughing. On Sunday, in the beer garden, there was a bush poet, Greg North, followed by Matt Scullion. Matt played several instruments and sang songs he had written himself. He was excellent. Listening to them was unexpected and very enjoyable.

Whoever is the current chef is amazing… Many thanks … we had steak cooked to perfection and McLaren Vale red wine .. and shared a fantastic apple crumble … This is the year to eat at the Hotel Gregory in Winton.. we chose the dining room due to its Retro style. The quality of food presented was fantastic. I wish we were here to do it again.

Camping in a camper was hard as it was hot, and the camping was out the back in the carpark. There is limited shade. One shower for campers. Toilets and other facilities are ok, and you walk through the beer garden to access these. ||The food was great. Staff were great. The hot tub is great. |It was a very quiet campsite.|

We give it 2 stars because the international students were great. As for the maintenance on the hotel zero stars. The hotel ran out of hot water in the rooms for 2 days. Too many poor maintenance issue to mention. Some even OHWS issues.
The meals however were excellent.
