Great half day experience, well worth the visit. Would not do the 4 hours with young kids. Lots to see and great guides take you through the different sessions. Book ahead online as you will rarely get an entry at the time you arrive. We only booked 2 hours ahead but got last tickets for our session.

All three components offered very enthusiastic and dedicated guides which ensured we were thoroughly engaged in the tour parts. These were the lab where the fossils are brought from the dig sites and painstakingly extracted from the rock etc. The collection room where the first types of dinosaurs discovered here are on display. They're called Banjo and Matilda. There's also Evan. The last part of the tour is to the Dinosaur Canyon where a whole creek bed (now rock) has been relocated from another site. This in itself is amazing but it also contains dinosaur footprints. Part of this section is self guided which is also very worthwhile.

Highly recommended to visit if you are driving through Winton. The tour guides are very friendly and knowledgeable, and they are happy to answer all of your questions. I recommend to research before you come, as all tours have different starting times.

A wonderful facility with important fossil exhibits, but highly commercialized.
Very touristy with dozens of people shunted in and out. Fabulous if you love anything to do with dinosaurs. Very busy during school holidays. Guides ranged from good to precocious. Audio system in laboratory let that part of tour down. Difficult to hear guide who spoke very quickly. Audiovisual experience was good. Stampede exhibit was good with good commentary from guide. Worth a visit if you’re interested in palaeontology and doing the dinosaur trail.

The museum is very well laid out and each experience is well presented by the guides. Their knowledge is extensive which they are very happy to share and answer your questions. The fossil room was great and the fact you can volunteer for digs is wonderful. Loved the preserved footprints and all the information available.

Good, but also disappointing. I believe all areas should be more immersive and engaging. Eg. Moving pictures with added info. More dinosaurs around the place. There were a lot of children, but you could see they would have enjoyed some moving pictures, stories etc. A pity, as I can see there would be so much more potential to make it a greater park. More picturesque signs leading to the park would also be a good idea.

Very glad that I visited, I had wanted to come here for a long time and certainly wasn't disappointed, I also attended the gondwana star Observatory again well done informative and worth it.
