We recently hired a 4WD from Rainbow Beach Adventure Centre for our 6 day holiday on Fraser Island. Wendy, Robyn and Tim were fantastic to deal with. We felt they were always there to support us if we had any problems and they were always happy to answer our questions. They spend time with you before you take the vehicle away, providing expert advice and giving you awesome ideas for your itinerary. Our vehicle was by no means new, but we felt confident that it was well serviced and reliable - it had no issues at all. We will certainly be using them again on our return to the island next year.

We recently hired a 4WD with Rainbow Beach Adventure Centre for our 4 day Fraser Island experience. We were quite disappointed with our experience with this company. It took 1 hour 10 mins from the time we got there to pick up the vehicle to the time we left. I know people like to be thorough with safety but this was a little over the top especially with all the penalties you could wrack up. I was beginning to wonder whether we should have gone at all. For the daily hire rate that equated to $217 a day I wasn’t happy with the quality of the vehicle. It had done over 300,000km, had road tyres not 4WD tyres, rust holes in the doors, a sticky dirty cover on the steering wheel, the seats where torn previously were taped up with duck tape and there was a constant smell of petrol in the cab which made my wife nauseous. We had to drive everywhere with the windows down. So in a nutshell this vehicle was a very tired abused rust bucket that squeaked, creaked and groaned. The vehicle served its purpose but when got back and compared our rental to other companies ours was definitely inferior and expensive for what we received. Also when we got back to drop off the vehicle we had a very snarky remark made that the auxiliary tank wasn’t quite full but we’d be let off ?‍♀️. We never even used it and only used half a tank of the main fuel tank. Maybe this auxiliary tank had a leak and that’s where the petrol smell was coming from. In conclusion we would not use this company again.

Fantastic experience. Bevan, Trudie, and Wendy were all super helpful and friendly. Family operated and good prices. Their Toyota Landcruiser is extremely reliable on Fraser Island. Thanks for all the help guys!

Amazing experience 4wd on K’gari and double island point from rainbow beach. Will definitely come back and hire from the Adventure centre again. We even had a flat tyre racing back to the last K’gari to inskip point barge, Trudy and Bevan were amazing over the phone in a stressful situation and even called ahead to hold up the barge for us. Such lovely people, couldn’t recommend any more.

We hired "Billy" the Maroon Queenslander Toyota Landcruiser. Possibly the oldest one in the fleet but he didn't miss a beat. Wendy was great in setting up the entire trip, including the Barge pass and return cleaning. She was great with communication and fun and polite. We felt the whole hire experience was pretty good value for money. I'd recommend these people with a 4WD hire for Kgari. Treat the vehicle with respect and follow the rules.

I organized a family holiday in Feb 2022 and took a package deal- 4 days accommodation & rental a 4WD from this local family business.
It was un an unforgettable experience... From first moment when we arrived to collect the car till the time we returned it.
Wendy was fantastic, gave us a map and did a very organized itinerary for us. We followed it and not having any regrets. Benny-our 4WD was the best, very reliable and comfortable. We visited Champagne pools, Mackenzie Lake,Eli Creek and much more....Benny the car has off road tyres is lifted higher than a normal 4x4 not expensive on fuel.

The accommodation was at Fraser Island Beach Houses. Natalie and her husband were awesome. Very comfortable house with pool view, very spacious and clean.

I could not recommend strongly enough this business. Customer service to the highest level and very affordable prices.

I highly recommend this place especially for first time visitor who values customer service.

Unaware of the tide time, I unfortunately could. It go to the island on my day of arrival. Wendy suggested that I could still go early next day morning and visit all the important attractions in that day.

She took her time to draw a detailed plan for my next days visit and highlighted all the key times for each place. She even responded her phone at night for my questions.

In addition, even though I will only be renting for one day, the car is given to me for that afternoon to help me getting prepared for the next morning.

Her plan were proven to be crucial for my trip. It has helped the trip to be as exciting as it is safe.

Having been to Fraser a number of times but in diesel vehicles I was a little apprehensive about hiring the petrol auto , however I was totally impressed with the way it handled the conditions, even in very soft sand. (The fuel economy was very comparable to the diesel patrol on our last trip)
This is given the fact that we had 6 adults and two infants on board and the company allowed us to tow a small trailer with our supplies for two weeks to our accommodation at Eurong.
We appreciated the friendly no nonsense service, but I'm sure had we been first timers to the island we would have received whatever help and advice was needed to ensure a successful trip.
