It's a great location to view the sunset. There are not many beaches on the east coast that faces west to enjoy the sunset. Of course you can always watch the sunrise, but that requires waking up early.
It's a good idea to check the sunset time if you want to time your photos for the exact moment. The clouds happened to block the direct view of the sun setting, but they do light up quite well.

A nice spot for a small walk around sunset with your dog, and a great place to go looking for crabs amongst the rocks. Dogs are required to be on leash, although most people let their dog off leash around this area. There’s a boat ramp and picnic area near the car park too.

Lovely sunsets and a beautiful relaxing scene to behold. Always lovely at this time of year and great to see it never fails to take your breath away. Always love the sunsets at Point Vernon and been admiring them for nearly 20 years. Beautiful....

Been here for 3 different sunsets over 2 months so far and it's the best place to watch the sunset in all of hervey bay! Highly recommend!

Quiet area during the morning and during the day. The afternoons can be quite busy if you are coming to watch the sunset. Sandy beach with a flickering of coral and tiny shells. Take a beach side stroll to Gatakers bay and boat ramp.
