Excellent resources for exploring the area including dinosaur trail, other local towns and much more. Staff super helpful and friendly!

Very interesting museum attached to Centre setting out fossilized Australian dinosaur bones and geological finds.
Collection also includes artifacts from other parts of the world donated by locals. Includes recent history of area too ie wool industry and mining. Well worth a visit.

Great little self tour of the history of Hughenden and a part of the dinosaur ? trail with full size Muttersuar on display. Lots of interactive activities. Good for families, dinosaur enthusiasts, or travellers wanting to see the sites and learn the history of the area.

We had a good chat to the very nice & knowledgeable staff member Tilly.
Lots of fossiles, thunder eggs etc, info about sheep shearing/ sheeps & strikes, kids friendly play area , great film about Porcupine Gorge, great souvenir shop

A must stop when visiting the Flinders area. The lady on the information desk was so helpful. Nice to see someone with such enthusiasm for their town and district, a real credit to her. Found the museum interesting and informative, couple of short movies very interesting. Displays informative and great area for kids to explore as well. Thanks also for the free camp area handy to town and local attractions.

Nicely laid out, small museum with an entry fee of $5.50 per person. They have some small fossils from all around the world as well as some from the local area like varying teeth, shells, molluscs and fish. They also have some beautiful fossilised timbers and very colourful rocks of many varieties. There is also a short video on the formation of the Porcupine Gorge over 500 million years period.

They also have a full size replica of a Muttaburrasaurus named 'Hughie'.

There is also a section in the museum on the history of Hughenden.

Great little stopover for travels especially with little kids. The museum has interactive elements and a little play area too. Well priced gift shop. $20 per adult though for a small museum but it's well presented. The staff were exceptional.
