This is a wonderful garden of Australian flora. The sounds of native birds and the fluttering of butterflies as you walk. Please close the gates to keep the feral pigs out. The cafe has a wonderful art gallery.

A rare and beautiful garden with early plant history. Well worth a slow meandering walk. The sounds if birds, the butterflies flittering about. Magical and remember please always shut the gates to keep the wild pigs and feral animals out. The art gallery of flora in the cafe is a must do take the time to appreciate what someone has captured in drawings so long ago. The depth and detail is touching of the soul. The artist had a wonderful sense of nature.

Really enjoyed our walk around Cooktown Botanical Gardens. Very well cared for and on a hot day it’s an oasis in the shade. The selection of plants was very good, and it is very well set out.
We also had a milkshake and snack at the garden cafe which was delicious. Well worth the visit.

Well maintained garden with easy access and with hard surface wide paths to explore. Great shelters offering a place to rest, or sit and listen to the array of bird sounds around you.
A smaller garden offering a nice oasis from the warm weather. Amazing interpretation, with all plants signed appropriately, allowing you to learn about the collection. A must see place when visiting or driving near Cooktown.
Take time to explore the surrounding sections outside of the fenced gardens. I particularly loved the First People's Grove section and information.
If you have more time, a great start and end point for beautiful walks to lookouts and scenic bays. Allow a couple of hours.

Fantastic quick service in a lovely setting. We have bao and fish burger and they were all fast and freshly made. Good use of local produce.
