Loved visiting Cooktown Museum and had a treasure hunt for the kids in 2 different stages. Easy and hard, they divided, came together, and helped each other complete them.
Front desk ladies were informative and so nice to talk to!
The view was amazing! So peaceful seating on the top verandah.
Makes you wonder what life was like for the children.

Very well maintained museum featuring James Cook and the Endeavour, as well as culturally significant native artefacts. Easy to spend an hour or more here. Like most country museums has an entry fee. This was $25 ea at the time of our visit

Currently travelling Australia with our 2 girls age 9&10 and came to the museum for our educational fix. I understand with National Trust membership who own and upkeep the place you would get in for free. Without that we paid $65 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. From my experience with museums around the country and overseas I would think $40-$50 would be a more reasonable price. The museum was good though and something you really must do visiting Cooktown. The exhibits are well presented and informative. The building has been beautifully restored

This is a hidden treasure of a museum. Greeted warmly on arrival. Great displays, from both a European and first nation's people aspect. The history on the convent was also good. Gift shop was reasonably priced and we purchased some nice presents. I spent about 3 to 4 hours reading the displays.
