Mark was an absolutely brilliant guide, explaining about the indigenous history & politics of the island, along with a fascinating sight seeing tour by boat of the shipwrecks, from Dunwich to Amity. We saw a bull shark, plentiful rays & turtles, and even a dugong coming up for air. Mark then dropped a kayak over to brown lake for me to have a paddle. Wonderful day. Highly recommend the boat tour

Mark is the best. He did us not only how to kayak but also told us the aboriginal stories. So glad to have him in the tour.

Our kayaking trip with Mark was relaxing, informative and exciting. We paddled at a relaxing pace around the mangroves on the western side of North Stradbroke Island, listening to Mark tell stories about indigenous culture, wildlife and the natural environment.

The water is calm, clear and shallow and you can see stingrays and fish. A pod of 5 dolphins came very close to us at the start of the trip, while they were hunting a school of fish. Later Mark spotted a flathead lying on the bottom and speared it from his kayak. You should have seen the smile on his face.

I highly recommend this 2 hour kayaking trip because it is enjoyable, adventurous and not too strenuous.

Kayaking with Mark was a clear highlight of our long weekend on Straddie. We paddled on a calm morning around the island to the sounds of the local birds and accompanied by storytelling of the island’s history and current issues. Many thanks.

I will recommend Straddle Adventures to anyone visiting the island. Mark was a great guide (kayak and food tasting). He is very well spoken and has great knowledge of his cultural heritage and the region.

We went on a kayak excursion, launching from a small creek near 1 mile, and taking a relaxed paddle along the mangroves to our take out point. We saw heaps of sting rays, a green turtle, and even found a bee's nest! (It turned out fine). The guide shared quite a bit of Aboriginal history, and was super friendly and helpful. Recommended if you want a low-key, enjoyable trip for the afternoon or morning.

Rich cultural experience and a true adventure. We went out on a kayak with Mark who helped us truly understand the place we were visiting. We saw so much stunning wildlife including a dugong with her baby, which I will never forget. Suitable for kids with a variety of experiences to suit all abilities and appetites for excitement. This is probably the best tourism experience I have ever had so I think it's a must-do for anyone visiting Terangeri/Minjerribah/North Stradbroke. Excellent value.
