Absolutely love this place! The service is consistently fantastic — the staff are warm, welcoming, and always up for a friendly chat. The coffee? Easily some of the best in town — smooth, rich, and perfectly brewed every time. Whether you're grabbing a quick takeaway or settling in for a relaxed catch-up, this café nails it. I love the positive messages subtly written on top of the sugar on the table or on top of a coffee cup if they have time. You just know the place has great ethos. Highly recommend if you appreciate great coffee and genuine country hospitality.

Stumbled across this cafe while travelling through and received a delicious meal, good value for money, however the interaction with staff was disappointing.
When making the order and giving a name, I noted we would be sitting outside and wouldn't hear their call. There were two tables set up outside under speakers in the warm winter sun, clearly for customers to sit and eat their meals. We waited for twenty minutes, and when I went back in to ask about the food it was sitting on the coffee machine in takeaway containers, lukewarm. The staff could easily see us through the window waiting. The place was not busy - there were three girls behind the front counter and someone in the kitchen to an otherwise empty venue except for a couple of tables outside on a Friday lunchtime. There was no apology and acknowledgement when I was handed the semi-cold food.
Don't put tables outside if the staff are unwilling to service them. And staff please, for the sake of the business, treat customers like people and let them know their food is ready if you're not bringing it to them. You're working in a cafe, not a McDonalds.

First time at 61 Balo. Extremely clean and well presented. Service was with a smile (rare these days). Food in the display cabinet was beautifully arranged.

One of the best steak sandwiches I’ve ever had it came with cheese egg beetroot salad and it was enormous. It had a real big steak Not the cheap and nasty piece of meat that most serve and the chips were spot on. The eggs Benedict and pancakes I had for breakfast were out of this world
